    Ron Park
Ron Park wins SE Open Tour Opener

Ron Park got the new season of the SE Open 9-Ball Tour off to a positive start with an undefeated run through the field at K-O Corral Billiard Club in Enterprise Alabama.

Park claimed the hot-seat with a 7-4 win over George Rothrock. Rothrock had been on fire after defeating Tommy Kennedy 7-6 in a previous match. Kennedy led the match 6-0, but Rothrock came back with seven straight match wins.

After Rothrock's loss to Park for the hot-seat, he then lost to Scotty Townsend on the one-loss side and was forced to settle for third place. Townsend went on to face Park in the finals, where he lost 9-6.

Park earned $650 for first, while Townsend settled for $385. Rothrock and Kennedy filled out the top four spots. Denny Singletary was the top junior finisher and he earned $50 in bonus prize money.

Tour director Tommy Kennedy described the K-O Corral as a 'safe learning center for pocket billiards' and thanked room owners Phyllis and Larry for hosting the event. Phyllis was missed at the event this time and all the tour staff look forward to seeing at the next event.
