Reflection

By Angel Paglia,
WPBA Touring Pro

Reflecting on my 9th Place finish at the US Open in Albuquerque NM leaves me feeling positive on my game and the future. I was very anxious for this tournament given that we have had a two month brake. I felt I was ready to let my game loose and confident in my good habits I have incorporated.

Unfortunately, I became ill one week before the tournament. Hoping that it would make its course by the tournament, I was left disappointed. Struggling through the winner's bracket performing barely at my B game made me fall short to Monica Webb 4th match on the winner's side. I had defeated Allison Fisher in Albuquerque once before and would have been playing her for the 4th place TV Spot. Unfortunately, my fever was taking a toll on me and I failed to keep my fundamentals together. This brought to my attention that things were not a stable as I had hoped for yet. Only what you have burned into your physical memory will show when you are feeling under the weather.

On the B side I would find my good friend, defending champion Ga Young Kim. I was not as fortunate playing her as I was in the BCA this year. Monica and Ga Young went on to get 3rd and 4th place. They both played really great: I can call getting sick a curve ball this tournament but I am so excited that my placing is higher every tournament! I will be focusing on my stamina, health and fundamentals for the Nationals coming up on November 8th. Wish me luck!

Never give up no matter how hard the road seems,

Angel

Progressive Practice
Do you get bored with practice routines? Do they seem to easy or repetitive?
If I could only teach you one shot
Look over the following 4 shots for a moment and look for a few things that they all might have in common, and then we’ll get on with our lesson.
World's Biggest Pockets!
Bar box, Dallas, 1997. Three quarters, slip-on tips, chalk down to the paper, cracked so you get two or three pieces to work with but they are all still stuck together like three pieces of a broken sucker that you left on a piece of paper on the back porch when you were a kid.
