Reflection

By Angel Paglia,
WPBA Touring Pro

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year in 2006! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support and wonderful email responses during this past year's journey. I have learned so much through 2005 which I plan to share this next year, and hope to inspire many more of you to your best games in the future.

Reflecting on 2005, I have shared some experiences in braking hurdles, building a stable and productive swing, the importance of patience and most of all how to deal with the these transitions mentally. Working on your game is a never ending battle. Even when you learn something, it still needs perfecting. To fully believe in your ability you must feel worthy of the accomplishments that it brings. I challenge each and every one of you to identify an element of your game that is lacking and resolve to work diligently at improving it this New Year.

I am moving into 2006 a much more knowledgeable player. My swing is solid and I can recover quickly when a mistake is made. This year Jerry Brieseth has given me a new profound work ethic at the table for practice and competition. "This game is work, every break is work, every shot is work, and every win is work." Remember, work is not fun but the feeling of accomplishment is it's own reward. This is essential for a winning attitude.

The WPBA 2006 season starts Feb. 22nd at Nash Community College in North Carolina. Immediately following will be a tournament March 8th in Michigan City Indiana. I am entering this season with a new confidence and look forward to showing you all first hand what preparation can do for your goals.

In the words of Muhammad Ali, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a Champion."

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Angel

Progressive Practice
Do you get bored with practice routines? Do they seem to easy or repetitive?
If I could only teach you one shot
Look over the following 4 shots for a moment and look for a few things that they all might have in common, and then we’ll get on with our lesson.
World's Biggest Pockets!
Bar box, Dallas, 1997. Three quarters, slip-on tips, chalk down to the paper, cracked so you get two or three pieces to work with but they are all still stuck together like three pieces of a broken sucker that you left on a piece of paper on the back porch when you were a kid.
Melinda Bailey - Directing the Transition
On an early Saturday morning In April 2008, Melinda Bailey enters Bogies Billiards on Houston’s far north side. The setting is familiar; the Hunter Classics Tour has held tournaments here in the past. However, this weekend’s event will be different.
