Welcome back to Chef Anton's Magical Menu of Pool Ball Wizardry. This year we had so many quality entries to Chef Anton's Original Trick Shot/Betcha Contest, it was difficult to select only three winners. So I would like to acknowledge some of the other unique entries with my Honorable Mention Award. This month's Honorable Mention goes to Craig Wilkening from Smyrna, GA

This is a wonderful example of putting a new twist on an old premise. "Machine Gun" Lou Butera has done entire exhibitions based on this "betcha", although I have never seen him perform this version. Once mastered, you will never pay for a drink again. Place the cue ball and 9 ball as diagrammed. Challenge anyone to kick at the 9 ball off of four rails!!! Most people will know the three rail kick, but four rails? Seems impossible, right? Once the mark gives up, follow these instructions sent to me by Craig. He calls this shot "Around the World in a Shot."

"I have a shot you may not have seen yet. It's a four rail around the table kick shot. Place the cue ball and lock it on the inside rail as far as you can without the cue ball falling in the hole (cue ball is totally tit hung or rail hung). Place the 9 ball in the opposite bottom corner pocket. This shot is not done by curving the cue ball around the rail. What needs to be done, hit the cue ball by shooting the cue ball very firmly with a cue tip off center on the right side. The cue ball travels off first frozen rail then strikes the rail above side pocket on top end of table then strikes the third rail, very top of the table the fourth rail on let side top, then across the table to packet the ball in the corner pocket. Mr. Anton you may or may not have seen this shot but I betcha I could show you on the first try! Thanks for your time."

Thanks again to Craig Wilkening for his original trick shot.

Thanks and Bon Appetit.

SEND A BETCHA OR AN ORIGINAL TRICK SHOT AND WIN A FREE VIDEO

I need your help. I am in search of learning every "betcha" in existence. For example, the oldest pool betcha known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first. This is exactly what I am interested in finding.

So if you know any "grifts", even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately. I will give an autographed video for every "betcha" sent to me that I have not seen before. If you are not sure if I have seen it or not, send it anyway. Please e-mail me at chefantons@aol.com or mail your entries to:
