Shot #2 $20 Betcha (solution)

By Chef Anton

Secret:

Under the conditions, it seems impossible to make the 8-ball. But then again, until you know the secrets, don't all of the betchas in this book appear impossible? The secret to this shot is to roll the $20 bill into a tube and place the 1-ball on top of it.

Execution:

Roll the $20 bill into a tube (similar to a coin wrapper) and then place the 1-ball on top of it. Shoot the cueball under the 1-ball and you will triumphantly make the 8-ball in the side pocket within the guidelines of the proposition.

Never Try to Hustle a Hustler:

Over the years, similar shots have been submitted to me in my annual Original Trick Shot / Betcha Contest. I would bet few people knew the concept of placing a ball on an object so the cue ball can be shot under it is over one hundred years old.

Happy Hustling

Send an original Betcha or Trick Shot and
Win a FREE Pool Hustler's Handbook

I need your help. I am in search of learning every billiard brain teaser in existence. For example, the oldest pool billiard brain teaser known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first. This is exactly what I am interested in finding.

So if you know any hustles, even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately. I will give an autographed copy of The Pool Hustler's Handbook for every billiard brain teaser sent to me that I have not seen before. If you are not sure if I have seen it or not, send it anyway. Please e-mail me at Column@ChefAnton.com or mail your entries to:

“Dead Stroke” vs. “In Stroke”
Once in a while, and always unexpectedly, I experience being in “dead stroke.”
What Are The Differences In Pool Balls?
Yes, there are definitely differences in not only the brands of pool balls on the market, but also in the styles offered by the single leading brand.
90° and 30° Rule Review
This article summarizes my previous six articles dealing with the 90° and 30° rules. Hopefully, by seeing all of the results in one place, knowing when and how to apply each rule will become clearer.
Breaking To Win
When most amateur's break, they try to smash the cue ball as hard as they can and watch the eight ball to see if it is going in a pocket...
“Pro-Cut” Pockets: Does Tight Make Right?
The term “pro-cut pockets” has been floating around for a while now.
