Shot #19 The Pyramid Puzzle

By Chef Anton

Greetings Scoundrels,

Welcome to this month's edition of my new column called The School for Scoundrels. This column will feature the world's greatest hustles, swindles, and billiard brain teasers. You will receive a number of benefits including the ability to:

  • Fool and Amaze Your Friends
  • Never Pay for a Drink Again
  • Protect Yourself from Someone Who Has Read This Column.

Proposition: With ball in hand, make the 9-ball in Pocket X.

Difficulty Rating: 2

Origin: Anonymous. Fortunately, I first read it in Robert Byrne's award-winning book Byrne's Treasury of Trick Shots in Pool and Billiards. If it were not for Bob, I would have blew my stake on this one..

Set-Up:

Freeze the 1-ball, 2-ball, and 9-ball in a pyramid formation with the 9-ball being approximately two feet from Pocket X.
