Due to the advent of the football season, this month's trick shot is called 4th and Goal. This is a classic trick shot that should be in the repertoire of every aspiring trick shot artist. The shot is quick to set-up, easy to perform, and has a great story to go along with it.

Set up the shot as diagrammed. Make sure all of the balls are frozen. Leave about 2 inches between the pairs of balls. The one-eight combo should be aimed at the outside tit of the side pocket to allow for the throw. Strike the cue ball firmly, aiming for about ½ of the the 1 ball. The cue ball will carom off the one, going into the pairs of object balls and splitting them to allow the eight ball the perfect bank in the side. Mike Massey places a paper bag in front of the side pocket with the mouth open towards the balls. The eight ball will go into the bag, flip it over, and then continue to the side pocket. Great idea Mike!!!

Patter is important for this shot. Here are some ideas. You can use your imagination for this one. It is 4th one Goal. Time is running out. The play is a handoff to the running back, who has to split the defense, then get into the end zone without getting "sacked."

SEND A BETCHA OR AN ORIGINAL TRICK SHOT AND WIN A FREE VIDEO

I need your help. I am in search of learning every "betcha" in existence. For example, the oldest pool betcha known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first. This is exactly what I am interested in finding.

So if you know any "grifts", even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately. I will give an autographed video for every "betcha" sent to me that I have not seen before. If you are not sure if I have seen it or not, send it anyway. Please e-mail me at chefantons@aol.com or mail your entries to:
