This is a con man’s version of regular 8-Ball because it helps to eliminate some of the luck involved in the game. Whenever I am “educating” some poor sucker I meet, I insist we play this game. After his “lesson” I may offer him an “opportunity” to win his money back. I bet double or nothing that I can make the 1 ball and the 8 ball in one shot but the 8-ball can never touch the 1-ball. This is a great betcha that I use in all of my shows. Set the shot up as diagrammed. Make sure the butt of the cue stick is frozen to the cushion and that the 1-ball is frozen to the cue stick. The 8-ball cannot touch either the cue stick or the 1-ball. Shoot into the rail with high right hand english (inside english) and the cue ball will strike the cushion, hit the cue stick thus pocketing the 1-ball, go around the corner, come back down the opposite side of the cue stick and ultimately pocket the 8-ball.
