What a bargain!!! This month's trick shot is entitled Steve Harvey's Tournament Winner. Yes, for those of you whom are insightful, this shot is featured on the WB Network's #1 Show….The Steve Harvey Show on Thursday October 29th at 9:00 pm. Check local listings to see my television acting debut. This is a classic trick shot which is a must for any good pool hustler. I actually have used this shot to win a tournament, although it was not quite as dramatic as it appears on television. The secret is based on one of those cool pool phenomena's: if you elevate your cue stick to about 45 degrees and strike the cue ball slightly above center, then after the cue ball hits the rail, it will "jump" back. Willie Mosconi used to finish his shows with this shot where he would shoot the cue ball the length of the table and then catch it in mid air as it soared towards his head at speeds clocked around 90 M.P.H….what a showman. I used to finish my shows with this shot where I would shoot the cue ball the width of the table and then have it swish into the corner pocket. I stopped when this final shot once took 90 Minutes to do successfully…what a _______ The challenge is to make the 8-ball in the corner pocket without touching any of the striped balls. The shot is easy once you know how. This is still a great bar bet because most novice players have never seen it. But, I would not recommend trying to hustle someone with it after October 29th, since that is when I will be "exposing the secrets of pool" on national television (without the use of a ski mask!!!!!!!) SEND A BETCHA OR AN ORIGINAL TRICK SHOT AND WIN A FREE VIDEO I need your help. I am in search of learning every "betcha" in existence. For example, the oldest pool betcha known to man is where the three ball are balanced on the end rail in a pyramid configuration, and you bet your mark you can hit the other two balls first. This is exactly what I am interested in finding. So if you know any "grifts", even if they do not apply to pool, send it to me immediately.
