AWBT's Third Tour Stop A Success
SixShooters-Phoenix hosted the successful AWBT's Third Tour Stop. Thirty-three ladies participated in Saturday's main event, with nine tables continuously under siege. By 8:00 p.m., when the dust finally settled, the last eight ladies still standing were Jean Vaillancourt, Angel Paglia, Meiko Yamanobe-Pollard, Kristin Haney, Ann Inbody, Susan Mello, Liz Bernreuter and Marney Teague. Sunday found the final eight ladies squared off, lagging for the break and breaking to start the tournament. Twenty-three ladies participated in Sunday's Second Chance Tournament, with competition as fierce as in the main event.
The three-ball break contest garnered quite a few participants, names were drawn and prizes awarded. Rick Paglia won the Teague Custom Cue. Phoenix Custom Cues and Dale Teague were available both days for cue repairs. We can expect to have them at future events.
To lessen the tension in the main event, during their match, Susan Mello and Kristin Haney played one game on their knees. At the end of the day on Sunday, the following results were tallied:
Main Event
1st Jean Vaillancourt : $279
2nd Angel Paglia : $191
3rd Meiko Yamanobe-Pollard : $140
4th Kristin Haney : $98
5-6th Ann Inbody / Susan Mello : $65 each
7-8th Liz Bernreuter / Marney Teague : $39 each
Second Chance
1st Yevette Johnson : $59
2nd Diana Clayton : $36
3rd Sara Miller : $22
4th Susan Williams : $13
Everyone enjoyed themselves and the tournament proceeded smoothly, with only a couple of speed-bumps which were quickly and quietly removed. Our thanks and appreciation to SixShooters and their staff for making this a good tournament.
