| Vaillancourt-Haney Neck to Neck at PinkE's & Pappy's |
At the $500 added PinkE's event on October 9, Jean Vaillancourt overcame her early loss in the third round and defeated Kristin Haney twice in the hot seat to win the tournament. A great showing for Susan Williams, she finished third with her only losses to Haney and Vaillancourt, And her consistent performance earned Susan Mello a close fourth place finish.
This infamous battle for the title would once again resurface at the $1,000 added October 23 event at Pappy's. Vaillancourt, from the one-loss side, again tried to defeat Haney in the hot seat. Only this time, Haney stood her ground despite Vaillancourt's win in the first match. Sara Miller showed her strength with a third place finish as well as Katie Gray, one of the top finishers of the BCA Championships, in fourth place.
In addition to these top finishers, AWBT produced many other winning opportunities at PinkE's and Pappy's courtesy of the sponsors. At the PinkE's event, a total of $730 worth of prizes were distributed including a $180 custom cue by Bilancia Cues won by Katie Gray and a $500 Bilancia custom cue won by Judi Wickelgren, AWBT would like to thank PinkE's for hosting the event with excellent staff members, Steve, Cody, Stacy, and Slick Rick. A special thanks to the Billiard Boutique for the additional prizes at this event.
At the Pappy's event, an exciting break contest provided a fund raising opportunity for AWBT and brought a $1500 custom cue by Bilancia into Chuck Davidson's hands, Thanks to your support, AWBT was able to raise over $500 toward the Points Fund to be distributed among the members with qualified points at the and of the season. $500 worth of additional prizes were won by both members and spectators including Susan Wilbur who received a Bilancia cue in the member drawing. Thank you to Billiard Boutique, Time Out Lounge, Pool & Billiard Magazine, C.J. Wiley, Lombardi's, Rolling Hills Golf Course, Village Inn, and Sunchain Tanning for their generous donatios. AWBT is Grateful to Brian at Pappy's for providing a $1,000 added tournament as well as great crew members.
