Arizona Women's Billiard Tour recorded yet another successful tournament on January 23, 24, 1999 at the Rack & Q in Tempe. Surpassing our achievement from the previous tournament, the tour reported 38 entries, more spectators and sponsors, and a considerable increase in the membership.

Jean Vaillancourt, after two full days of battle, captured 25 points and the title of our first tour stop. Jean's brilliant play moved her through the winner's side without a single loss all weekend. Susan Mello took second place with an equally outstanding performance. Kirsten Griffis and Susan Smith finished third and fourth, respectively, both producing some of the greatest matches in the tournament.

Congratulations to all the participants for their heartfelt performance and sponsors for an exceptional event. AWBT would especially like to thank the Rack & Q for adding $500 and hosting our stop, Phoenix Custom Cues and Sierra Custom Cues for each donating a Cue, Cheba Hut for their gift certificates, and Video & U for donating a movie. Our gratitude also goes to the spectators who donated over $100 in support of the tour, even though all of the raffles were free. The winner of the member-only Phoenix Cusom Cues raffle was Nicole McCue. Rick Paglia won the Sierra Custom Cue, Judi Wickelgren and Colleen Toothman received the Cheba Hut certificates, and Cindy Von Hoffmann took home the movie from Video & U.

Additionally, AWBT would like to thank the World Registry for an opportunity to have the ratings of our top 10 players published nationally. Our members submitted their score cards and received a chance to win a $100 gift certificate towards a cue case from New Image Pool. Meiko Yamanobe was the lucky winner of the drawing. We are also thankful to Liinda McCue for a well-directed tournament.
