Thirty-one women pool players emerged on Famous Sam's 35th Ave and Greenway on April 15th and 16th for their 3rd tour stop of the Arizona Women's Billiard Tour.

What a weekend it was for our winner of the main event. Yevette Johnson's Silver Lining in the Clouds could not been any clearer than it was this weekend. Yevette started Saturday with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She was determined to finish the first day in the final 8, and to her surprise she did and on the winner side to boot. Susan Williams, Christina Porteous, Kathy Crout, Katie Gray, Susan Wilbur, Susan Mello and Michaele Kedanis were part of the final 8 that came back on Sunday to finish out the tournament.

On Sunday Yevette's luck continued by starting off the day by defeating Susan Williams 5-2, then she played Christina Porteous for the hot seat. Yevette came away the winner and waited for her opponent. What a trip that was for our 2nd place finisher Kathy Crout. She was on the winner side until Christina Porteous defeated her 5-0. Kathy's next match was against Susan Mello, Kathy came away the winner taking the match 5-3. After that she defeated Michaele Kedanis and then Christina Porteous to play for 1st and 2nd place. Even though Kathy was playing some of her best pool this weekend, Yevette knew in her heart that this was her day and she was ready to win. A Calm, cool and very relaxed Yevette, defeats Kathy to win our 3rd tour stop.

Congratulations Yevette, keep that positive attitude!

Finishing in 3rd place was Christina Porteous, 4th place went to Michaele Kedanis, 5th-6th Susan Mello and Susan Williams and 7th-8th finishers were Susan Wilbur and Katie Gray.

Also on Sunday we had our traditional 2nd chance tournament. Tracy Neal finished 1st, Linda McBride 2nd, Grace Cayco 3rd and Judi Wickelgren took home 4th. Congratulations girls for a great tournament and we'll see you in Tucson in June.

Our newest member Linda McBride won the $250 dollar member's cue. The winner of the $475 contest cue was Yevette Johnson. Barbara Parker won the free pool instructions from Roger Long.
