Gerda Hofstatter wins the trophy and $15,000 in prize money.

#2 ranked Gerda Hofstatter is your new BCA Open 9-Ball Women's champion. She defeated #1 ranked, and defending champion, Allison Fisher 7-4 in the finals to win the $15,000 first prize.

As is usually the case when someone beats Allison Fisher, Gerda jumped into command of the match early as Allison was forced to play safe on the 2-ball after her opening break and was down 0-2 when Gerda next let her to the table. Game 3 included a safety battle on the 1-ball before Allison was able to run out and cut Gerda's lead in half. Allison pushed out after her break in game 4 and Gerda let her shoot again. Allison ran down to the 5 but missed, allowing Gerda to win the game and forge ahead by 2 games at 3-1. Gerda then won the next game to go ahead 4-1 in the race to 7.

Allison was not done yet as Gerda pushed out in the next game to leave Allison a bank shot. Allison fired the ball in and ran out this and the next rack to pull back within two games at 3-5. A costly miss on the 8 by Gerda in the next game allowed Allison back within one at 4-5.

Gerda was left with a very tough shot in the 10th game and played a 2-way shot where she tried to bank the 9 but left the cue ball on the opposite end of the table in case the 9 failed to fall. The 9 did not go in but Allison was left with a very difficult cut shot which she missed allowing Gerda to the hill at 6-4 breaking and Gerda then proceeded to break and run the next rack to win the tournament 7-4.
