Efren Reyes | Magician Conjures Comeback in Vegas
The evening rounds got underway at the Enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championship with a batch of eight matches on the winners side. In what most fans are calling the best match they have ever seen, 'The Magician' Efren Reyes added a new trick to his repertoire.
Reyes faced off against Allen Hopkins and the crowd witnessed Hopkins play nearly flawless pool to take a dominating 10-1 lead in the alternating break format match. Hopkins was on his way to a run out in the next game and jarred an 8-ball to allow Reyes back to the table. That miss turned out to be costly as Reyes put together an amazing 10-game comeback to win the match 11-10. Reyes will face off against countryman Dennis Orcollo in the next round.
That wasn't the only amazing match in the 7pm round though. On the women's side, Arizona's Angel Paglia pulled off a 9-7 win over WPBA #2 ranked Karen Corr. The match was close early, but Corr pulled ahead midway through the match. At seven-seven, Paglia took control of the match and won the last two games. Paglia will face Taipei's Pei-Jen Tsai in the next round.
