Can China be Stopped at Yalin WWTBC?

Siming Chen is Considered the Favorite

Manila, Philippines-  China will be sending their deadliest and most gifted female professionals to take down the Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship. China has dominated the World 9-Ball Championship the last three years in a row, but have yet to claim the World 10-Ball, widely considered to be the higher game of skill. China's top bet will be 18 year old Siming Chen, current World #1 ranked. The 2011 Yalin World 10-Ball will take place November 2-6 at Robinson's Galleria with Stage 1 Qualifiers at Star Billiards Manila on October 31-November 2.  Robinson's Galleria is connected to the host hotel Crowne Plaza Galleria. An elite world class pros only field of 48 international superstars of the world's greatest women's players will attend the event to become the World Champion of 10-Ball. This year's event is again title sponsored by Yalin Tables, one of the premier billiard table manufacturers of the world.

The list of Chinese talent is deep. Xiaofang Fu, 2010 World 9-Ball Champion and World #4. Yu Han, World #6 and All Japan Championship winner. Sha Sha Liu 2009 World Champion at sweet age of 16 when she won and current World #9. Bi ZhuQing, current World 9-Ball Champion. Even 16 year old Gao Meng will be one to keep an eye on (she has already taken down the likes of Jasmin Ouschan and Yu Ram Cha).

And of course, the deadly teenaged Siming Chen.

"She's the best one (out of the Chinese)", Allison Fisher stated simply. Chen's breakout event was her 9-7 victory over Fisher at the China Open last year.

"My coach in Germany called me and said he has some great young girls that could be strong pros by the time they hit their twenties. I told him there are 16 year old Chinese girls winning World Championships right now!", said Thorsten Hohmann, a Three-time Men's World Champion.

Top coach and promoter Charlie Williams adds insight into the predictions. "The Chinese young ladies are strong. But I don't think I would say a for sure lock by far. There are a  few factors going against them if they can overcome. The World 9-Ball in China had almost half the field with Chinese women,  so just by sheer numbers they were the odds on favorite. This time they are not playing in China, the field is not predominantly Chinese, and the game is 10-Ball. 10-Ball has alot more strategy and a different kind of break that takes more skill and power. Ga Young Kim and Jasmin Ouschan made the finals last year. I don't think it was accidental.

On November 6, the world will know if China has a lock on the World Championships.

The Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship is additionally sponsored by ABS-CBN Sports, Robinson's Galleria, Predator Cues, Pool & Billiard Magazine, Top147.com, Simonis Cloth, Aramith Balls, Magic 89.9, and Crown Plaza Galleria Ortigas. The event will be airing on ABS-CBN and internationally on ESPN Star Sports. The event will be broadcasted live for all five days of the main event with 25 hours of broadcast television coverage.  Stories, complete info and updates will be on www.WomensWorld10Ball.com

With these global network and media partners the Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship is still the biggest and most watched women's billiard event in the world.
