Alex Pagulayan
Pagulayan wins Carolinas Open 9-Ball Division

Alex Pagulayan redeemed his loss to Ronnie Wiseman in the finals of the Carolinas Open one pocket division by going undefeated to win the 9-ball division.

Pagulayan took the hot-seat in both divisions, but fell 5-2 to Wiseman in the finals of the one-pocket division. Amazingly, Pagulayan played Wiseman for the hot-seat in both divisions.

After losing to Pagulayan for the 9-ball hotseat, Wiseman was upended by Johnny Archer 11-4 in the semi-finals. Archer had shaken off an 11-10 loss to Jose Parica and won four in a row to get to the match with Wiseman.

Archer then moved on to the finals against Pagulayan, but Pagulayan was too much for Archer. Pagulayan jumped ahead early and cruised to a 15-5 victory in the extended final match.

Pagulayan pocketed $2,500 for first, while Archer took home $1,750 for second. Wiseman and Parica filled out the top four spots.

Complete brackets for the 9-ball division are online.
