Carolinas Open

July 29 - August 3, 2003
Fast Eddies
Goldsboro, NC

Toni and Nick Varner
Varner rolling through Carolinas Open

Friday matches are complete at The Carolinas Open and the player drawing the most attention so far in the tournament is Nick 'The Kentucky Colonel' Varner.

Varner followed up back-to-back 11-1 wins over Jamie Turnage and Charlie Bronson, with an 11-2 win over Keith McCready Friday evening. Varner will face Ronnie Wiseman, who won the one-pocket division of this event earlier in the week.

Friday night's matches ended the same way that Thursday night's matches ended. With a room full of specators watching the last match of the night, and Jose Parica coming out on top. Thursday night, Parica came back from an 8-5 deficit to beat Mike Davis 11-8. Friday night, Parica pulled out a victory over Johnny Archer in a hill-hill match. Parica will face Alex Pagulayan on Saturday.

The brackets for the 9-ball event are posted and will be updated all weekend.
