The Derby City Classic moved into day 5 today as the one pocket event continued. What started as 155 players is now 24 players. Some of the top players in the one pocket event are already eliminated as Jeremy Jones, Grady Mathews and Danny Diliberto are done.

One of the upsets from earlier today was Eric Baker from Clearwater Florida handing George 'Ginky' San Souci his first loss of the one pocket event.

Ginky bought back in and was playing last years All Around Champion, Dee Adkins tonight. Other matches tonight were Tang Hoa vs Teddy Garrahan, Shannon Daulton over Corey Deuel, Buddy Hall vs Danny Medina, Nick Varner vs JR Harris, Keith McCready vs John Hager, Johnny Archer vs Ronnie Allen and Banks division winner Jose Parica vs Scotty Frost.

The 9-ball mini tournament from monday night filled up so quickly that top player Mike Coltrain was turned away and could only watch as Mark Hostler from Detroit won the $800 first prize.

The line of the day came from Ronnie Allen as he rushed into the tournament area while his opponent Buddy Hall waited patiently. Ronnie was heard complaining about tournament director Scott Smith, "Damn that tournament director. He sends me to the cleaners with his dry cleaning and then he puts me on the clock!!" Smith had no comment.
