![]() January 4 - 12, 2002 Executive West Hotel Louisville, Kentucky In the middle of day 4 at the 4th annual Derby City Classic, there are three players left in the 9-ball bank competition. Dee Adkins is playing Louis D'Marco for the chance to play Larry Price in the finals. D'Marco is the story of the day so far after his win over Shannon Daulton. D'Marco was down 2-0 in the race to three match when he came back to tie the match at 2-2. Daulton then got the first four banks of game 5 leaving him needing one bank for the win but D'Marco came back with 5 banks to win the game and set.
Update: The one pocket event is in full swing with over 100 players still playing. One player who is still playing but didn't look like he would be early is one pocket great Nick Varner. Varner started his tourney with a 3-0 loss to Scott Frost from Arizona and was down 2-0 in his next match before coming back and winning three games to win the match. Other action earlier today saw Shannon Daulton win a close 3-2 match against Marcus Chamat. |
