AZB:
Congratulations on a great year this year. You seemed to struggle last year, especially at official WPBA events. Now this year, you have three WPBA titles in addition to the Amway Cup and the Challenge of Champions. To what do you credit your turn-around this year?
Allison:
I think better mental Attitude and desire to do better, also after my dad passed away the game didn't seem as important to me.
AZB:
Some of the fans have started to notice this, and Ewa Laurence even mentioned it on ESPN the other day. You seem to have changed your stance and fundamentals a little lately. What happened there?
Allison:
I've worked on a few different things in my game this year, and I still need to work on more. I've been trying some new things. I need to start working on my fundamentals more though.
AZB:
All this year, you found yourself in an unusual position. #2 on the points list striving to regain your #1 spot. Can you tell us what that has been like?
Allison:
I would love to be #1 again but it's not something that I think about a lot. I was very pleased to be named player of the year though. Although it would be nice to be #1 again, it's not really something I worry about.
AZB:
The young players are really making their mark this year. Players like Ellerby, Shaw, and Rousey are scoring nice finishes each and every event. How do you think this new blood will affect the WPBA?
Allison:
It can only be good for the WPBA. Ellerby has been around a long time in England. She's got a strong game and good fundamentals. Rousey has also been around a long time on the tour, it's good to see her doing well. A lot of young players are playing well right now. They all have great fundamentals.
AZB:
We mentioned the Challenge of Champions win earlier. You seem to always play well at this event. Is there a reason why?
Allison:
I think the format's very exciting, but I don't know why I do so well there. Perhaps it's that I have a good attitude getting into the finals.
AZB:
You have drastically cut Karen Corr's lead on the points list. Besides regaining the #1 spot, are there other goals you have set for next year?
Allison:
No, not at the moment. I haven't really thought about it. The #1 spot is certainly within my reach next year. Hopefully I will come out strong.
AZB:
Now that the 2002 WPBA season is over. What plans do you have before next season begins?
Allison:
Well I'm going home for the holiday, then I'm going to be teaching Pool School in Charlotte in January and February. After that, I guess I'll be working on my game in preparation for next year.
