The Joss North East 9-Ball Tour began their season finale at Country Club USA in Chelmsford, MA with a $7500 added event this weekend with 103 players fighting it out for the trophy. The early featured upset after upset as top professional 9-ball players fell from the ranks early. Earl Strickland started saturday with a bye and then lost a hill-hill thriller to Jay Stevens. Strickland would win 7 match on the one-loss side before bowing out to Teddy Garrahan who had also lost his first match of the event. Strickland would finish in 7th with Garrahan finishing in 5th.

Jose Parica drew Jim Rempe in the second round and took a quick trip to the one loss side. Three matches later, Parica was eliminated by TJ Laflamme long before the cash rounds. Rempe fell to Steve Tavernier in his next match and was then eliminated by Francisco Diaz.

In an interesting twist of the draw, SE Open Tour Director Tommy Kennedy drew his assistant Tour Director Ron Park in the third round. Park handed Kennedy his first loss and then moved on to defeat Santos Sambajon before being sent to the one loss side by Ryan McCreesh. Kennedy would lose his next match and be eliminated on saturday.

As the tournament moved towards it's conclusion on sunday, the winners side came down to Steve Tavernier vs Larry Lisciotti and Keith McCready vs Joss Tour regular Ryan McCreesh. McCready defeated McCreesh 9-7 in a hard fought match while Tavernier sent Lisciotti to the left side 9-6. This set up a hot-seat match that looked to be a great one as both players had been playing 'lights out' all tournament. Unfortunately, for the fans, it was over in a hurry as McCready rolled to the hot seat by the score of 9-0.

The one loss side was packed with top players on sunday. Johnny Archer was still stinging from his hill-hill loss to Steve Tavernier on saturday and would win two matches on the one loss side to set up a match with Charlie Williams who had lost to McCready on the winners side. Johnny has had Charlie's number the last few times they played but he must have misplaced it on sunday as Williams won the match 9-8. Williams then eliminated Lisciotti 9-0 setting up his match with McCreesh who had just sent Teddy Garrahan to the bleachers.

Williams didn't have a chance as McCreesh beat him 9-5 and then McCreesh moved on to defeat Tavernier 9-6 to set up his rematch with McCready where he would have to defeat him twice for first prize.

McCreesh then pulled off back to back 9-6 wins over McCready to get revenge for his earlier loss and collect the $4000 first prize. It was McCreesh's first Joss Tour win since March of last year. McCready took $2500 for second with Tavernier and Williams fillout out the top 4 spots.

With all the star power at Country Club USA this weekend, next weekend should be unbelievable as the $15,000 added event takes place then.
