SanSouci wins at Leisuretime Billiards

Mike Zuglan's Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour event #3 was held at Leisure Time Billiards in Levittown, NY Saturday and Sunday 10/21 & 10/22. 47 Players showed at what has to be one of the best pool rooms in Long Island. Dan DiNominicci added $1500 to this event and his staff did a great job in helping to run a truly great event. Thanks Kevin and Tommy.

Saturday started right on time and the matches were tough right from the start. Andy Segal beat Rob Saez, Ginky got the best of Jonathan Smith, Johnny Ervolino won over Ron Paige and Lenny Favata got the best of Steve Lipsky. Tom Seminaro Jr. was playing some great pool and won his first two matches over Tom Ruacco and Ervolino. In his third match he went to the hill with Lenny Favata but in the last game Favata out saved him and won the match to go undefeated on Saturday, George SanSouci was on fire and none of his opponents got past 3 games Saturday and he too was undefeated along with hometown player Tom Walter and New Jersey's Teddy Garrahan. On the one loss side of the chart we had Jonathan Smith vs Tom Seminaro, Joey Kong vs Frank Hernandez, Scott Richardson vs Chuck Altomare and Pete Tascarella vs Nick Mannino.

Sunday's matches were as entertaining as the room full of spectators could ask for. Ted Garrahan and Tom Walters went back and forth to the hill and when Walters got bad on the eight, he over cut it and left it almost impossible for Garrahan to make. With a valiant effort Ted tried to jump-masse' the cue but knocked the eight off the table and Walters won. Ginky played Favata and the matches was even until game 6 when SanSouci found his break and ran 3 and out. On the one loss side Nick Mannino played outstanding against great cue maker and fine player Pete Tascarella. Mannino beat him, Chuck Altomare and Lenny Favata to secure a fine fourth place finish. Frankie Hernandez was plagued all day by scratches and in spite of this still was able to win all his matches to get to the finals against Ginky. SanSouci and Walters put on a great show and went to the hill in the finals of the winners side. On the hill, Walters over played a safe on the three ball, leaving Ginky just enough rom to see the edge. Ginky played a great three rail safe completely hiding the cue down table behind a group of balls. Tom fouled and gave George ball in hand and he ran out the set. In the finals I don't think Hernandez or SanSouci missed more than two balls, But once again Scratching on the break cost "New York Frankie" tremendously. SanSouci got to the hill first and when Frankie tied him and broke, he did it again, cue ball in the side pocket! Ginky took charge and won his first Joss event of the season.

If your ever out in Long Island, please take the time to visit this room. Leisure Time did everything to make us comfortable and able to run a great event. Moe's chocolate egg creams are the best. The equipment is great and the people are better. Final Standings:
