Lisciotti over Parica in Joss Northeast Event
October 28 & 29 2000. World Championship Billiards in Manchester, Ct. played host to Mike Zuglan's Joss Northeast 9-Ball tour's 4th event of the season. In the field was a host of great players and it showed for two days. Along with room owner and world champion, Larry Lisciotti, was Mike Zuglan, George SanSouci, Jose Parica, Santos Sambajon Jr., Canadian champ Chris Woods and many other strong players.  Saturday's matches saw players like Santos, Zuglan and Steve Lilis leaving without making the cash line. Bob Madenjian, Steve Tavernier, Andy Segal and Joey Kong only winning their entry fee's back. Undefeated on Saturday was Jose Parica, Frank Hernandez, Rob Saez and Larry Lisciotti. On the one loss side was George SanSouci vs Bob Hunt, Tom Seminaro vs Steve Marotto, Billy Lanna vs Tony Ruberto and Chris Woods vs Ryan McCreesh.

In Sundays first round their were four hill hill matches a 9-7 match and a 9-5 match. Hunt beat SanSouci 9-8, Seminaro beat young Steve Marotto 9-8. Chris Woods sent Ryan McCreesh packing at 9-8 and Lisciotti beat Saez on the hill. Hernandez beat Parica 9-5 and Billy "the kid" beat Tony Ruberto 9-7.  Lisciotti sent Frankie Hernandez to the one loss side in another 8-8 match and then had to wait for the other side of the chart to clear. Jose Parica went through the losers bracket beating Seminaro to meet Hernandez for the second time. Hernandez who defeated Robbie Saez was breaking well and playing better took and early lead on the 9 time Camel tour winner. After getting to 8-5, Hernandez broke and nothing fell. Parica scrambled and got out then found a way to get to the hill himself. On an easy 6 ball Jose miss cued and left Frankie open. Frank tried to follow the 6 and ended up over the eight and missed the seven in the side. Parica got out and it was time to meet old friend and champ Larry Lisciotti. In the finals you could see shades of the "Prince of Pool" at his finest. Larry and Jose got to 5-5 when Parica got bad on a ball. Lisciotti got out and then won the next two games. Parica won his 6th game and Lisciotti the won is 8th. At 6-6 Larry broke and nothing fell for the next 4 shots each it was one safe after another. Playing into the hands of the straight pool ace, Jose had to settle for second place as Larry took home the Big Trophy.

As host it is hard to beat Susan and Larry Lisciotti. The tournament went smooth as silk. The service was wonderful and the conditions were good. We at the Joss tour look forward to returning here next season and hopefully for years to come. Thank you Susan, Larry, Mackenzie and Lance. In two weeks the Joss tour returns to Connecticut at Action Billiards in Hamden, Ct.
