Delicious wins Providence Joss Tour stop

Danny Basavich

Danny 'Kid Delicious' Basavich came back from a quick trip to the one-loss side to defeat Shaun Wilkie and win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event at Snookers Cafe & Billiards in Providence RI.

Wilkie took the hot-seat with a 9-7 win over Basavich, but Delicious came back with a 9-5 win over Eddie Vazquez to earn the rematch with Wilkie in the double elimination finals. The first set of the finals was very competitive with neither player able to gather much momentum or get much of a lead. Basavich came through and won that set 9-8.

The second set was completely different as Basavich was riding high on the earlier victory and Wilkie looked completely off his game after the let down of losing the previous set. Basavich took complete control and cruised to a 9-1 win in the second set.

Basavich collected $1600 for the win, while Wilkie settled for a disappointing $1190 for second place. Vazquez and Steve Tavernier filled out the top four spots.

The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be holding their season finale next weekend at Spot Shot Billiards in Portland Maine. The season finale will be a $25,000 added event and we will have complete coverage of this event with Diana Hoppe of Pool Pics by Hoppe in attendance sending us pictures of all the action.

There will be a special memorial party celebrating the life of Larry Lisciotti after the matches are finished on Saturday. Bring your memories of Larry on Saturday night and celebrate with all of his friends.
