Reyes and Strickland fall at WPC

Day seven is complete at the 2004 World Pool Chapionship and the theme for the day is upsets.

The biggest upset of the day was Marlon Manalo's 11-4 win over tournament favorite Efren Reyes. Reyes never led in the match and was down as far as 8-2 to countryman Manalo. This makes the third straight major upset Manalo has scored in the event as he has beaten Ching-Shun Yang, Francisco Bustamante and now Reyes. Manalo will face Marcus Chamat on Saturday. Chamat defeated Thorsten Schober 11-5 on Friday.

The other big upset of the day saw Po Cheng Kuo 'The Little Monster' score an 11-8 win over Earl Strickland to eliminate Strickland from the event. Kuo will face Chin-Ching Kang on Saturday.

Other players advancing to the final eight on Saturday were Alex Pagulayan, Fong Pang Chao, Pei-Wei Chang and Johnny Archer. Chao will face Pagulayan and Chang will face Archer on Saturday.
