Ryan McCreesh went undefeated through a field of 73 players to win the Planet Pool Tour stop at First Break Cafe in Sterling, VA this weekend.
McCreesh took the hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Sam Monday, who then suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 loss to Don Steele on the one-loss side. The final was over as soon as it started, with McCreesh rolling to a 9-2 win in the extended single race finals.
McCreesh pocketed $1200 for first place, with Steele taking home $800 for second. Monday and Bill Stephen filled out the top four spots.
The ladies division drew a field of 26 players with Kathy Friend going undefeated for her first tour win. Friend defeated Tina Meraglio 7-4 for the hot-seat and then defeated Heather Dougherty 7-6 in the finals.
Friend earned $400 for the win, with Dougherty settling for $280 in second place prize money. Meraglio and Lois Scafone filled out the top four spots.
The Planet Pool Tour will be at The Playing Field in Richmond, VA for their next event on July 31st-August 1st.
