Bucky Souvanthong avoided a final match double dip with a hard fought win over Ron Casanzio in the second set of the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour stop finals at Salt City Billiards in Syracuse, NY on April 11th - 12th.

Souvanthong crusied through the field of 40 players and took the hot-seat with a relatively comfortable 9-6 win over Ron Casanzio.

After Cosanzio was taken to the hill in the semi-finals by Jeremy Sossei, fans in attendance had to assume that Souvanthong was a big favorite in the finals. WIth that in mind, Casanzio proceeded to crush Souvanthong 9-1 in the first set of the finals. Bucky regained control in the second set of the finals and held an early 7-4 lead. Casanzio made a run and got back within one rack at 8-7, but failed to get out in the sixteenth rack. Souvanthong took advantage by Casanzio's inability to convert the run-out and won the case rack for the 9-7 victory and first place.

The second set saw Dwight Dixon go undefeated with a 3-0 win over Dave Ricci for the hot-seat , and a 3-2 win in the first set of the finals over Rob Henry.
