Tkach, Gorst and Patsura snatch the 10-ball titles

The Gold Medals at the Dynamic Billard European Championships Youth in the 10-ball individuals have just been awarded. Kristina Tkach (RUS), Fedor Gorst (RUS) and Vitaliy Patsura (UKR) have taken the titlest.

In the Under 19’s, Vitaliy Patsura dealt with Sergey Lutsker (RUS). Both players started out quite nervous. Patsura dogged the 10-ball at 1:0 in the lead. The next rack, Lutsker missed an easy 8-ball. The nerves were blank with both players. After 10 racks, the match was tied at 5:5. Then Lutsker completely lost control of the cue ball while executing the break shot. He scratched and Patsura ran out with ball in hand to get on the hill. In the next rack, Patsura forced Lutsker to play a jump shot. Lutsker fouled while attempting to play the shot. Patsura used the momentum and took the rack and the match with 7:5 over Lutsker.

Earlier today, the first rounds of the 8-ball individuals have been played. One very outstanding match was the clash between Atlantic Challenge Cup teammates Kristina Tkach (RUS) and Marharyta Fefilava (BLR). Fefilava was on the hill, leading 4:3 when she missed the 8-ball to finish Tkach in the winner’s qualification round. Tkach ran a few balls but the ran out of position. The two contestants entered into a safety battle with the better end for Tkach. The match turned into a hill-hill thriller at 4:4. Here, Fefilava had the first shot at the victory. But she missed a makable shot and gave the table to Tkach who really performed outstanding today. Tkach cleared the table and made her way into the single elimination stage of the 8-ball while Fefilava needs to go through the loser’s side.

The tournament will continue tomorrow at 09:00 local time with the team competition. In the afternoon, the 8-ball individuals will continue.
