Tinsley Johnson wins BCA Qualifier

A field of forty two players made their way to the Cue Club in Las Vegas with hopes of winning an entry into the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships in May. Tournament director Greg Kuhl kept things moving smoothly all day and late into the night on Sunday.

As things wound down, it was Tinsley Johnson taking the hot-seat with a win over Paul Juarez. Juarez took the trip to the left side of the board where he eliminated Johnson's BCA Amateur teammate Trick Sixty by the score of 9-7. This set up the rematch between Johnson and Juarez with the BCA qualifier at stake.

The tournament was a true double elimination event, to Johnson's advantage, as Juarez won the first set 9-6. The second set was even closer, going to 8-8 before Johnson put it away by winning the case game.

Johnson won $1100 in addition to the spot in the BCA Open, while Juarez settled for $700 in second place prize money. Trick Sixty and Coby Raybourne filled out the top four spots.
