Rogers returns to Hunter Winners Circle

Leslie Anne Rogers

It was 'just another day at the office' this weekend for Leslie Anne Rogers as she captured her second tour stop victory of the year.

The field of 36 players was whittled down to eight players that returned on Sunday and Rogers started her day with a tough match against Heather Pulford. Pulford was running out at hill-hill but missed a six ball to let Rogers to the table. Rogers hit the six and nicely left the cue-ball behind the seven ball for the safety. Unfortunately for Rogers, the six-ball found a pocket leaving Rogers stuck in her own trap. With the 8-ball already down, Rogers was faced with a tough cut on the seven and she went for the shot. The shot might not have gone the way Rogers planned, but the result was just as good as the seven went in and Rogers was left straight in on the 9-ball.

After that win, Rogers went on to take the hot-seat with a 7-3 win over Amanda Lampert.

Lampert's tournament came to a close on the one-loss side with a 7-4 loss to Helen Hayes.

The win over Lampert earned Hayes a spot in her first Hunter Tour final match. The first time in the finals might be a match that Hayes will want to forget, as Rogers took complete control and won the match 7-0.

Rogers earned $750 plus the Qualifier for the WPBA Southeast Classic taking place in Florida this June, while Hayes settled for $560. Lampert and Brandi Smith filled out the top four spots. The win also moves Rogers into a 200 point lead over second place on the Hunter Tour points list.

The Hunter Tour will be at Pugsley's Library in Dallas, TX on June 18th-19th for their next event.
