The Blaze Tour's 19th stop at Rockaway Billiards in Rockaway NJ drew such top players as Frankie Hernandez, Karen Corr, Santos Sambajon, Al Lapena and points leader Matt Krah.
Frankie Hernandez started the day with a 7-4 win over Wali Muhammad. Next was Santos Sambajon in a thrilling match that went hill hill with Hernandez winning 7-6. Al Lapena was next up for Hernandez. This was an easy match for Hernandez who won the match 7-4. Hernandez took care of Bill Smith Jr. with a 7-2 win sending him to play for the hot seat against Ramon Mistica. The battle for the hot seat was one sided with Hernandez winning the match with ease 7-2 sending him to the finals for the second straight time.
Making a run from the one loss side was Al Lapena with wins over Gerard Soriano 6-3, Karen Corr 6-4, Bill Smith Jr. 6-4, Ryan McCreesh 6-2 and Ramon Mistica 6-2 sending him to the finals where Frankie Hernandez was waiting for him.
In the finals it was Frankie Hernandez vs Al Lapena, Lapena jumped to a 4-1 lead but Hernandez came right back by winning the next 4 games to take a 5-4 lead. The players then exchanged games until the match got to hill hill. When it was all said and done, Hernandez came away with the win 9-8 and the 19th stop of the Blaze 9 ball tour.
