Parica wins Bellflower Pechauer Stop

Jose Parica

Bellflower, CA - Jose Parica bested a field of 68 players at Hard Times Billiards' Pechauer Tour stop this past weekend.

Parica cruised through the winner's bracket and sent Ernesto Dominguez to the backside in the hotseat match, only to see him again in the finals. Parica joked, "The more broke I am, the better I play", and play well he did! He held Dominguez to just 6 games in the final race to 13, which is just not easy to do.

Dominguez dominated the semi-final match against house-pro Dave Hemmah, but he just seemed to run out of steam in the finals and Parica played flawless, capitalizing on every opportunity.

Many of the area's younger players did well this weekend as well. 16-year old Ty Benton of San Diego made it to the top 16 and a young foreigner named Johannes Kauhanen was the talk of the tournament as he picked off the likes of Lorry DeLeon, among others and was finally stopped in his tracks by Dave Hemmah.

The next stop is in Boise, ID at BackStreet Billiards May 6th and 7th, then the tour travels back down to the LA area May 27th and 28th at Shooters Billiards in Riverside, CA.
