USPPA Pro Am Classic Day 2

Day 2 of the USPPA Pro Classic at the Sands Regency in Reno resulted in a cadre of close encounters of the hill/hill kind. Of the 144 matches played the second day of the event, an incredible 37 matches went 8/7 with another 24 going 8/6 attesting to the incredible accuracy of the system.

Key matches included Jason Williams (125 Rating) and Gerardo Jamito (139 Rating) moving through to the money brackets. Warren Costanzo took any early shower at the hands of none other than Aaron Aragon, a.k.a., "Ironsides" in a hotly contested Hill/Hill battle. Spectacular safety play highlighted the match with a uncharacteristic missed 5 ball by "Monk" (Costanzo).

The USPPA's own "Twin Engine Set" namely the Rakin, Obert, and Collado Twins met with mixed results. Ranging from preteen to teen this is always a great spectator opportunity to see who is who in this group. To the best of our knowledge none of this group has ever tried to substitute for the other…….but then again, how would we know anyway, Only their Cuemaker knows for sure!

This event has run smoothly under the direction of Linda Silva and the fine staff she has assembled over the years. With Scott Smith in attendance as the Master of Ceremonies, the action is lively and yes there is truth to the rumor that plans are in place to unveil a Scott Smith bobble head doll in the near future!

We will have prize money breakdown as well as key match ups in the next recap.

Thanks to Mike Howerton and his staff at AzBilliards for allowing us to keep you up to date.
