Song ‘s Savvy Play Surprises Archer and All in Atlanta

The Pechauer Cues Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour closed out their 2006/2007 season on March 24th-25th with a $3000 added event at Mr Cues Billiards in Atlanta, Ga.

Early favorites in the field included Johnny Archer, Stevie Moore, Cliff Joyner, Scotty Townsend, Paul Song and Ron Park.

To no one's surprise, it was Johnny Archer making his way to the hot-seat match where he faced off against Paul Song. That match was won by Archer 9-3.

On the one loss side, Song won a close 9-7 match against Stevie Moore to earn another shot at Archer in the finals.

While Archer might have won the first matchup between he and Song. It was a different outcome in the finals as Song took the match 11-8 for the tournament win.

Since this was the season finale, the following awards were announced at the event.

Player of the Year: Richard Broumpton
Sportsmanship of the Year: Scotty Townsend
Highest Lady Tour Points: Gail Grecar
Highest Jr. Tour Points: Anthony Meglino
Highest Sr. Tour Points: John Ditoro
Most Improved Player of Year: Rick Sanchez
All around Good Guy Award: Bo Nelson
