Chris Jenkins wins Canadian 30K Tour Stop

It was a great weekend with mild weather and the scent of summer in the air. The Canadian 30K Tour made its 27th stop at Pool Paradise in Waterloo. 44 players arrived to stake their claim and with tools in hand made their way to the top of the hill, knowing all along that only one would be successful. Sunday brought back 6 players and the final climb to the top was set to begin. Top bracket of the A side we had Chris Jenkins (8+) vs. Adrian Fragoso (6) and Chris Jenkins prevailed 9-3 (match was 9-6)

Bottom bracket of the A side Rob Brandenburg (8+) sent Hsin Huan (7) to the B side with a score of 9-6 (double hill match)

The final two were ready to battle it out for the “Hot Seat” and a battle it was! Chris Jenkins defeats Rob Brandenburg by a score of 8-4 sending Rob Brandenburg to the one loss side to grind the hard way.

The one loss side match featured Scott MacDonald (8) vs. Jason Netherton (6+) this match finished favoring Jason Netherton by a score of 7-4. Scott MacDonald finished 4th

This set up the match between Jason Netherton (6+) and Rob Brandenburg (8+) who wasted no time in making quick work of Jason Netherton (6+) defeating him by a very convincing score of 8-2. Jason Netherton finished 3rd.

In the first set of the final Rob Brandenburg (8+) came back fighting strong with all 8 cylinders and defeated Chris Jenkins (8+) by a score of 8-4.

But Chris put his engine in Super Charge, re-fueled and was not about to give up an inch as he won the final set 8-6 in what was an exquisitely played match by both players. Rob Brandenburg finishes in 2nd place.

Congratulations to Chris Jenkins on his 1st place finish of the 27th stop of the Canadian 30K Tour at Pool Paradise in Waterloo.
