Duggan and Redmon Win Virginia All American Tour Stops

The twenty-ninth and thirtieth stops of the 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) were hosted by Southern Amusement Pool League at Flipper McCoys, in Norfolk, VA on April 7, and featured a $500 added women's division with twenty-six players and a $1,500 added men's division with forty-one players. Both events included a double-elimination 8-ball format on bar boxes. In the men's division, Bill Duggan (Virginia Beach, VA) ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Duggan clipped Dave Perry (Virginia Beach, VA) 5-4. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Duggan had outplayed Jay Hughes (Norfolk, VA) 5-3, while Perry knocked off Dan Losh (Virginia Beach, VA) 5-1. In the B-side quarterfinals Harry Kernodle (Virginia Beach, VA) eliminated Losh 5-2, while Bill Mason (Virginia Beach, VA) ousted Hughes 5-2; Mason took out Kernodle 5-3 in the semifinals; and in the B-side finals Dave Perry ended Mason's run by a 5-0 margin. Dave Perry had to defeat Bill Duggan two sets for the title, but the undefeated Duggan claimed the title in the first set by a 5-4 margin!

In the women's division, Jacki Redmon (Suffolk, VA) ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Redmon clipped Rachel Eliazar (Raleigh, NC) 3-2. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Redmon had outplayed Barbara Yeager (Suffolk, VA) 3-2, while Eliazar knocked off Mary Davis (Virginia Beach, VA) 3-2. In the B-side quarterfinals Becky Nelson (Winston-Salem, NC) eliminated Davis 3-1, while Yeager (Suffolk, VA) ousted Cheryl Pritchard (Chesapeake, VA) 3-1; in the B-side semifinals, Nelson took out Yeager 3-2; and in the B-side finals Becky Nelson continued her hot streak in eliminating Rachel Eliazar by a 3-1 margin. Becky Nelson had to defeat Jacki Redmon two sets for the title, but the undefeated Redmon eased to the title in the first set by a 3-0 margin!

By virtue of Dave Perry's second-place finish in the men's division and Jacki Redmon's first-place finish in the women's division, both players as the highest-placing ACS members qualified for a free singles entry into the 2007 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.
