Lindauer holds off Cha for Spirit Tour Win

Korean powerhouses Yuram Cha and Bo-Ram Cha are the latest ladies setting their sights on qualifying for the WPBA through the various regional tours across the country. Yu-Ram's goal of winning the Ladies Spirit Tour qualifier this weekend came within one game of being completed. But, tour regular Laura Lindauer had other plans.

Yu-Ram dominated Saturday play with four lopsided matches, including a 7-2 win over WPBA player Tracie Hines. Cha's Sunday play started with a 7-0 win over another WPBA player, Debbie Schjodt. It looked like smooth sailing for Cha. But then she played for the hot-seat against Laura Lindauer who put a small snag into Cha's plans. Lindauer scored the 7-5 win to send Cha to the one loss side.

Cha collected herself on the one loss side and eliminated Spirit Tour points leader Jeannie Seaver 7-3 to earn another shot against Lindauer in the true double elimination finals.

The first set of the finals went to hill-hill before Cha scored the 7-6 win to force another set to determine a winner. The second set also went to hill-hill before a winner was crowned, but this time it was Lindauer dropping the final 9-ball and celebrating the victory.

Lindauer earned $775 for first place, while Cha settled for $525 in second place prize money. Seaver and Debbie Schjodt filled out the top four spots.
