WPC Field cut by Half

Corey Deuel will face Zulfikri from Indonesia

The group stages at the World Pool Championships have now been completed and the field has been reduced from 128 players down to 64. These 64 players are now grouped in a single-elimination ladder and from this point forward any loss means an exit from the tournament.

The group stages were not kind to the Americans. Only four remain. These are tournament favorite Shane Van Boening, Earl Strickland, Corey Deuel and Charlie Williams. Van Boening will play Wednesday against Antonio Gabica, Williams will face Niels Feijen, Strickland will go up against Chi-Dung Luong of Viet Nam and Corey Deuel will battle Muhammad Zulfikri from Indonesia.

Other interesting match-ups include an all-Filipino clash between Jeffrey De Luna and Leevan Corteza, Nick Van Den Berg versus Imran Majid, And Karl Boyes against Sandor Tot.
