Ellerman wins All Around Stop with 9-ball break over Frost

The Olhausen Billiards Desert All Around Tour held their 9th event of the season at Kolby's Corner Pocket in Tempe, Az on November 17th and 18th with a field of 41 players looking for their share of the $1000 in added prize money.

As has been the case all year, the two top seeds were once again Scott Frost and Mitch Ellerman. Frost had won the last three tour stops by defeating Ellerman in the finals and this event came down to Frost and Ellerman in one more match for the hot-seat.

The match went back and forth with neither player willing to give an inch. At hill-hill, the match would be decided by one game and that game wasn't decided until Ellerman missed a tough cut on the 8-ball to give the game to Frost.

Ellerman's stay on the one loss side was not long, as he dispatched Bruce Barreras 9-5 to earn yet another shot at Frost in the finals.

The final race to thirteen saw Ellerman take the first real lead at 7-3, only to watch Frost run five straight racks to snatch the lead away at 8-7. The match was tied again at 11-11 with Frost the getting to the hill first at 12-11. Running out the case game, Frost missed a 7-ball and allowed Ellerman back to the table to finish off that rack and break at hill-hill. The break would be all Ellerman needed as he snapped in the 9-ball for the win.

Ellerman collected $1340 for first place and extended his lead on the points list to 150 points with one event remaining.
