Rich Schau Hot at The Corner Pocket in Florida

With a full field of thirty-three players on hand for the $500 added main event, the Corner Pocket in Largo, Florida, played host to the latest stop of the KBP Amateur Billiard 9-Ball Tour on February 17, 2008.

The day shone bright on two men – Paul LeCain and Jim Sandaler. Both won every match they played until an eventual run-in with one another for the winners side hot-seat match. Lecain took full advantage of the momentum the day offered and finished out the set on top of Sandaler 7-2.

While Sandaler waited for his next opponent, a story about Rich Schau was in the making. Schau lost his first match to Peter Kuhl on the hill (7-6) and from then forward, crush everyone that jumped into his path. When Schau met up with Sandaler, they stayed in a close race matching game for game until the score hit 3-3. At that point, Schau began to pull away and eventually took the set 5-3.

The finals pitted Paul Lecain with Rich Schau up against each other in what would have been thought to be an epic match since these two were dominating players throughout the day, however, Schau jumped the line and took off without looking back taking the second season event by a score of 9-2.

The tour would like to send a special thank you to Casey Merrell, Owner of The Corner Pocket. The room was a fantastic place to hold this weekend's stop and we look forward to seeing you again on March 30th.
