The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour's Amateur Divisions Event #3 in the 5 series Nationals took place at Mr. Cue II in Atlanta, GA on August 23rd & 24th.  This weekends event broke all previous records for The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tours Amateur Division events with a total of 138 players in the tournaments offered this weekend.  The Main Event was filled with action as 98 players, which included 20 free entries for women players and 21 league discounts, competed for their share of the the $2500 Added event. However, the action did not stop there, 16 players participated in the $100 entry fee, winner take all race to 7, single elimination event that kicked off Saturday evening and continued well into the early hours on Sunday morning followed up with a 24 player $30 entry fee winner take all race to 5, single elimination event that began at 3pm on Sunday. The competitors this weekend were not lacking for action as they played to win their share of the $9,680 prize funds that were up for grabs.
 
Mr. Cues II in Atlanta, GA hosted The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour 3rd event of the 5 series Nationals and once again exceeded all expectations for providing an excellent atmosphere for players and spectators to enjoy the sport of billiards. Saturday the head count in the room was approximately 350, it was literally standing room only as patrons packed in to the event to watch their favorite player compete in the tournament that was played on brand new Brunswick Gold Crown IV' 9' tables all freshly covered with Championship Tour edition cloth with Aramith Super Pro Balls and Chameleon racks..
 
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour Amateur Event was won by Jeff Hooks who has competed many times over the last 15 years to no avail. The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour is proud of the progress Jeff Hooks has made over the past few months and once again Hooks displayed phenomenal play as he works towards taking the overall National Championship of The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tours Amateur Division.

The 16 player $100 entry winner take all event was won by Jeff Hooks. Hooks made a strong showing as he once again played his best against all of his opponents and took home the $1600 prize fund from that event.
 
The 24 player mini tournament that started at 3pm on Sunday was won by  who worked his was through the field to claim the $720 prize fund.
 
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tours Amateur Event prize fund has been increased to $3000 Added for each of the next two events that will take place at Side Pockets Billiards Cue Club in Marrietta, GA as a token of appreciation for all the players that have competed in our events and continue to show their support for our sponsors, room owners and the tour.  We all look foward to another great record breaking event.
