Kjorsvik making statement at WPBA Carolina Classic

Line Kjorsvik is back with a vengeance

Day two is in full swing at the WPBA Carolina Classic and fans in attendance will see a returning star in the final sixteen single elimination stage.

Line Kjorsvik, who has been tearing up the regional tour circuit all year, advanced into the final sixteen with a dominating 9-5 win over Xiao-Ting Pan. Kjoersvik led the match 7-2 and was playing with a determination that is sending a message to all opponents that she is back.

Sarah Rousey is also getting a lot of attention this week after three wins over Val Finnie, Sarah Ellerby and Jasmin Ouschan to remain undefeated going into day three.

The other players who have made their way to the final sixteen are familiar faces; Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, Jeanette Lee, Kelly Fisher, Gerda Hofstatter and Ga-Young Kim.

On the one loss side, Sarah Ellerby took a 9-4 loss to Laura Smith and ended her effort with a disappointing 33rd place finish. Ellerby looked distracted throughout all of her matches.

Other surprising results on the one loss side included Kyoko Sone's win over Val Finnie. Sone trailed Finnie 6-2, but came back for the win. Sone will next face Michelle Rakin. Rakin scored a 9-7 win over Filipino sensation Iris Ranola.
