The Western BCA 11th Annual Regional 9-Ball Championships were held October 22-26, 2008 at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, Oregon. Player registration rose over 10% with 784 players and a total of 1331 entries in ten divisions vying for the $64,220 prize fund, setting a record over previous years.
The four day event started with mini-tournaments and ring games organized to warm up the players for the main events. Top of the line 7 foot Diamond SMART Tables, Red Circle Cue Balls, Super Aramith Pro Balls and Simonis 860 Tour Blue Cloth were used for the event. Tournament management, pool tables, and other equipment were provided by Ric Jones of Bad Boys Billiard Productions.
Few upsets took place as players who were anticipated favorites rose to the top of the brackets. A special congratulations to Andrea Saenz-Maes and Bob Zack as first time winners in the Masters Singles divisions.
