Pajuay, Tolentino Forge Ten-Ball Title Clash in Billiard Stars Search

VAL PAJUAY and Mario Tolentino won their semifinal matches and arranged a title clash in the Division A of the 2nd Billiard Stars Search yesterday at the famous Star Billiards Center in Grace Village, Quezon City.

Pajuay, whose stint here is being supported by Cebuano businessman Paul Magadan of Magi Group, defeated 1993 Southeast Asian games snooker gold medalist James Al Ortega, 9-2, while Tolentino subdued Francisco Felicilda, 9-7.

In the Division B, Resty Labastida forged a title showdown with Jerico Bonus.

Labastida outclassed Leonardo Hipolito, 8-3, while Bonus eliminated Richard Talibong, 8-4.

Weben Velarde and Ronald Cayetano likewise gained finals slots in the Division C.

Velarde bested Aldren Pajares, 8-7, while Cayetano humbled Vicente Caloi, 8-5.

Meanwhile, Michael Pajares and Jason Marabi toppled their respective rivals to dispute the coveted plum in the Division D.

Pajares nipped Julius Capito, 6-2, while Marabi crushed Eliezer Llasala, 6-2.

The double elimination format, WPA Call Shot Ten-Ball affair, hosted and presented by Star Billiards Center in cooperation with the Billiards & Snooker Congress of the Philippines, Philippine Billiards Foundation and Raya Sports.

Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the top players in each division. Cash prizes will be based on number of entries. As an additional incentive for Division A players, four slots in Stage 2 of the Tagaytay Kabayan Cup in December will be awarded to the top four A players.
