29 players came out to Silver Cue Billiards on a rainy, raw Sunday to play for the $1,145.00 in prize money up for grabs at the New England 9-Ball Series.
Some of the notables That attended were Mike Minichello, Mike Dechaine, Dave Fernandez, Peter Kramer, Andy Maynard, Harry Nathan, Alex Morin and Dave Hall.
This event held it's fair share of upsets with Mike Dechaine losing to local player Mike Minichello and Dave Fernandez falling to Andy Maynard. Dave Hall also lost to Maynard. This young man had a great tournament just finishing out of the cash.
The Finals were true double elimination with Mike Minichello trying to beat Harry Nathan twice with a 6-4 spot. Minichello won the first three games of the first set, then Harry woke up winning the next 2 to make the score 3-2 in favor of Mike Minichello. The next rack Mike broke and ran out to make it 4-2. The next game Harry would win to make the score 4-3. The next game Mike Minichello would break and run out, make the score 5-3. The alternating break format had Harry breaking the final rack and he would win the deciding game and win the match and the tournament.
