All American Tour in Clinton, Ia

The thirty-fifth stop on the 2009-2010 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was produced in Clinton, IA, on Saturday, March 20.  The $500 added event featured a full 32-player field in a double-elimination 9-ball format on 7-foot bar boxes.  Tony Maresca (Clinton, IA) [rated a “6” on a regional handicapping system used] won the A-side bracket, including a “hill-hill” semifinals win over Tommy Fuller (Davenport, IA) [5] 6-4 and a “hill-hill” finals win over Jim Baker (Camanche, IA) [5] 6-4.  On the B-side Will Kohl (DeWitt, IA) [5] and Keith Helfrich (Dixon, IL) [6] ousted Will Thomsen (DeWitt, IA) [5] 5-4 and Woody Van Kampen (Fulton, IL) [6] 6-2 at 7th place respectively.  Kohl then eliminated Tommy Fuller at 5th place by a 5-4 margin, where Fuller was tied with Keith Helfrich, who fell at the hands of Ray Fredericksen (Clinton, IA) 5-2.  Kohl then ended Ray Fredericksen's run at 4th place, 5-2, and in the next match Kohl gained an entrance to the finals courtesy of Will's win over Jim Baker 5-3.  The tourney finals ended in one set, as Tony Maresca remained undefeated, clipping Will Kohl 5-3 for the title!
