Jesse Bowman got by John Schmidt twice to go undefeated at the Annual Breaker's 9-Ball Tournament in Mobile, AL on the weekend of Aug. 7-8. The $6,280-added event, with a guaranteed purse of $15,000, drew some familiar names (Schmidt, Larry Nevel, Jesse Middlebrook and Jonathan “Hennessee from Tennessee” Pinegar, et al), and a total of 109 entrants to Breaker's Billiards in Mobile.

As Bowman was busy sending Schmidt west 9-4 in their first meeting, C.J. Wiley and Darryl Diggart were battling to get into the hot seat match. It was Diggart and Schmidt advancing to the quarterfinals; Diggart, with a 9-6 win over Lutman and Schmidt with a 9-2 victory over O'Neal. The quarterfinals was a struggle, with Diggart and Schmidt battling to double hill, before Schmidt advanced.

Schmidt made it three in a row in the one-loss bracket with a 9-4 win over Wiley in the semifinals and got his re-match against Bowman. To no avail, however. Bowman took command of those finals and won the event with a 9-3 victory over Schmidt.
