Park Cruises Down Park Ave to Win Second FTB Event

Erica Park, Angie Reed (room owner) and Jeannie Seaver

Orange Park, Fla. (Jun. 25, 2011) – It wasn't exactly a day in the big apple, but the trip to Park Avenue paid off for Erica Park as she won her second Flamingo Billiards Tour event Saturday at Park Avenue Billiards over veteran player Jeannie Seaver.  Fresh off her incredible third place finish at the WPBA US Open in June, defeating the likes of Dawn Hopkins, Karen Corr and Jeanette Lee, Park won handily over every one she matched up with Saturday along the way.

After a first round bye, Park, who qualified for the Open via the FBT Qualifier in April, met up with Seaver, sending her west 7-4.  That win put Park up against tough FBT competitor Chris Ann Fields.  However, Park quickly sent Fields west as well, 7-1.

Seaver had started the day off with a win over Shanelle Loraine 7-3.  After losing to Park, Seaver defeated newcomer Kathleen Lawless, a recent transplant from the Arizona Regional Tour, 7-2.  Seaver then breezed by FBT Director Mimi McAndrews 7-0, and Sue Roberts 7-2, to make it back to the final four single elimination bracket.

Also making it to the final four was Kelly Cavanaugh, with tough wins over Vanessa Seaver 7-6, and Sue Roberts 7-5.  Vanessa made it back to the final four defeating Helene Caukin, 7-4, knocking Loraine out of the tournament 7-4, and ending the day for Fields, 7-6.

In the Single Elimination draw, Vanessa Seaver drew Park, who put Seaver away 7-1.  Jeannie Seaver drew Cavanaugh and defeated her 7-1.  That left a revenge matchup of Seaver v. Park.  However, revenge was not to be had on this day.  Park wrapped up the day and the event winning 7-1 over Seaver.

Many thanks to room owners Martin and Angie Reed (www.parkavenuebilliards.com), for being great hosts and sponsor Boynton Billiards (www.boyntonbilliards.com) for supporting the Flamingo Billiards Tour.
