Jeannie Seaver wins Spirit Tour Opener

Jeannie Seaver won seven straight matches on Sunday

Jeannie Seaver came back to defeat Tracie Hines twice in the finals and won the Ladies Spirit Tour Stop at World Famous Sports Cafe & Billiards (formerly Shootersville) in Delray Beach, FL.

Seaver dropped a match to Helene Caukin 7-6 on Sunday after holding an early 5-1 lead. That loss must have gotten Seaver's attention as she won the rest of her matches on Saturday and then rolled off 7 straight wins on Sunday.

Seaver started the day Sunday with a 7-2 win over sister Vanessa Seaver. After that, Seaver scored a 7-0 win over Margie Soash, a 7-5 win over Bonnie Coats, a 7-1 win over Kim Dager and a 7-1 win over Debbie Schjodt in the semi finals.

While all this was going on, Tracie Hines was sitting happily in the queen seat waiting for an opponent in the finals and knowing that opponent would have to beat her twice. The final match was a true battle with both players engaging in safety battles and not giving an inch. When the dust momentarily settled, Seaver had won the first set 7-6 and the players were getting ready to go at it again. The second set was more of the same with Seaver again coming out with a 7-6 victory.

Seaver won $700 for first, while Hines pocketed $525 for second. Debbie Schjodt and Kim Dager filled out the top four spots.

The Ladies Spirit Tour will be at Capone's Billiard Lounge in Spring Hill, FL on February 21st - 22nd for their next event.
